Over the last 75 years - including during the covid pandemic - our NHS and its dedicated frontline staff have provided us with the critical health care we need in our daily lives. But right now, the NHS is struggling and could reach breaking point unless we act.

Over 6 million people, a record high, are waiting to start treatment in England. But brand new 38 Degrees and Survation research has revealed that as many as 2 million of us are on a “shadow waiting list”, waiting to be seen for primary care treatment, including

• GP, pharmacy, dentist and optician services
• Community care
• Urgent and emergency care
• Mental health services.

So far, the Government has FAILED to fix this problem in their backlog plan.

Sajid Javid, as Secretary of State for Health, is responsible for fixing the backlog in England. There's still no meaningful plan to address the crisis in accessing primary care, despite how important this is to the public. We are demanding that Sajid Javid urgently publish and deliver a REAL, properly resourced plan to tackle the backlog in primary care.
